The very first OxygenOS 11 Open Beta build for the OnePlus 8T based on Android 11 landed about a week ago. OnePlus has just released a new Android 11 beta update for both the OnePlus 8 series and 8T.
This new update brings quite a few bug fixes to the table. The changelog is the same for both smartphones, and it’s quite long. Those of you who are already on the beta channel will get this update OTA (over-the-air). Let’s see what’s new, shall we.
The OnePlus account can now be registered with the phone number in more countries / regions. The company optimized the startup speed of some apps in order to improve the overall user experience.
The noise issue of 5G calls that you may have experienced should not be there anymore. The OnePlus 8 series did not display the fingerprint pattern on the display at times, and that has been fixed as well.
If you’ve had an issue with WhatsApp, you shouldn’t anymore. Some users were unable to receive messages when the app ended up sitting in the background for a long time.
The automatic launch of dark mode was prevented after the latest system update, but it’s now back. The animation of the voice assistant wake-up gesture is back, while the caller ID is now displayed for favorite contacts in Do Not Disturb mode.
The Setting interface ended up displaying abnormally under the split screen of call forwarding in the last update, but that should no longer be the case. The flash issue with the Quick Reply in Landscape mode is now taken care of as well.
Issues with the status bar while in split-screen have also been fixed, as have issues with the expanded screenshot function. On top of that, OnePlus is also rolling out a new Android security update with this build, update for March 2021.
Now, when it comes to cameras. OnePlus added a new time watermark, while any issues with the Gallery not displaying images have been fixed. The Nearby Share button will no longer disappear when using Google Photos.
OnePlus also fixed several Bluetooth issues, while it also improved SMS stability on the OnePlus 8 series. Several fixes have been issued for the Ambient Display, and so on. You can check out the full changelog by clicking here.
