OnePlus has just confirmed the OnePlus 9 Pro wireless charging speed, and also battery capacity. On top of that, the company shared some additional information as well.

The OnePlus 9 Pro will offer extremely fast 50W wireless charging

The OnePlus 9 Pro will feature a 4,500mAh battery. That could also be the battery capacity of the regular model, we’re not sure. The ‘Pro’ variant will also support a whopping 50W wireless charging.

In case you’re wondering how fast is that in regular usage… you can charge up that 4,500mAh battery from 0 to 100-percent in only 43 minutes. If you utilize the phone’s 65W wired charging, on the other hand, you’ll be able to get it done in 29 minutes.

Needless to say, this is one of the most compelling wired and wireless charging combos on the market, if not the most compelling one. It is considerably faster compared to what the OnePlus 8 Pro offered.

The OnePlus 8 Pro offered 30W wired and wireless charging. It was also the first smartphone from the company to offer wireless charging.

So, how did the company manage to make this happen? Well, it is taking advantage of dual-cell configuration. It will fill up both batteries at 25W each through the charging coil. On top of that, the company optimized the entire chain of components (coils and charging ICs).

The company increased the voltage

With Warp Charge 50 Wireless, which is the name of the company’s charging tech, you’ll get increased voltage. The company increased it to around 20W 2.5A.

Wireless charging also provides more heat than regular charging. In order to combat that, the company is using a twin battery design, with customized battery cells. OnePlus also increased the thickness of the coils inside the phone by 10-percent in order to help the heat dissipation.

The OnePlus 9 Pro itself is also designed to have better cooling performance, says the company. It includes a larger vapor chamber, thicker copper foil, and graphite that helps keep the phone cooler while gaming and while the phone is fast charging.

On top of that, the company is also bringing a new wireless charger to the table. That charger is equipped with two coils, so that you can choose whether you want to charge vertically or horizontally.

This new charger also used a detachable cable, so you can use the one from the Warp Charge 65 charger. That 65W Warp Charge charger will be included in the box, by the way, while the wireless one will be available as a separate purchase.
