OnePlus is rolling out the OxygenOS Open Beta 4 for the OnePlus Nord. Just like the OxygenOS Open Beta 3, or the ones released before, this update is also all about fixes for the annoying bugs reported in the previous beta builds.
According to the official changelog, the fourth beta build of the Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 for the OnePlus Nord contains fixes for as many as nine bugs or known issues. To start with, the latest releases fixes an issue where "Work-Life Balance does not display full information in the Quick Settings."
It also fixes the flashback issue when enabling the Location via Quick Settings. Other notable bugs that have been fixed with this update include documents randomly disappearing from the Lockbox, the Privacy Policy page being displayed abnormally in Dark Mode, and the device making a weirdly loud sound when fast charging kicks in.
A couple of glitches with the Calculator app have also been fixed. Apparently, the Calculator button had an abnormal size, and the UI also wasn't displaying results properly. With this update, expect the Calculator app to function properly on your OnePlus Nord.
The fourth OxygenOS Open Beta for the OnePlus Nord also fixes an issue with the File Manager. Apparently, stopping the unzipping process would crash the app. Last but not least, it fixes the flashback issue that may appear when entering the Profile page on the OnePlus Community app.
Apart from the above-listed bug fixes, this update also brings the February 2021 Android security patch to the device. The changelog that OnePlus has published doesn't mention any new features or enhancements and, most likely, there aren't any.
The OnePlus Nord arrived with Android 10-based OxygenOS 10.5 in late July 2020. The device received its first major stable OS update to Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 earlier this month. In the meantime, it continues to receive OxygenOS Open Beta builds as well.
As mentioned earlier, the fourth OxygenOS Open Beta for the OnePlus Nord seemingly doesn't bring any new features. So this could very well be the last beta build for the phone. Look forward to a new stable OxygenOS update in the coming weeks.
Nonetheless, if you're running open beta software on your OnePlus Nord, you should receive this new build in the coming days. Since it's beta software, some features may not work as intended. We recommend you make a full system back-up before installing the OTA (over the air) file.
