Ring has just taken the wraps off of the Floodlight Cam Wired Pro, as well as a new video doorbell – the Ring Video Doorbell 4. The doorbell doesn’t have a whole lot that’s new, so we’ll focus on the Floodlight Cam Wired Pro.
The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is a new floodlight that has an integrated camera. Allowing you to see what’s happening around your home. Since this is a “Pro” model, it does borrow a few features from the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 which was recently announced. That includes 3D Motion Detection, and a top-down view of someone’s movements in front of the camera. The company calls that the Bird’s Eye View.
It’s a motion activated light, and has a 2,000-lumen LED floodlight. So it does get very bright, as most floodlights would. It also has a 110dB siren included, and supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi. Which is interesting since most products only support 2.4GHz so it has great coverage from your WiFi network.
The Floodlight Cam Wired Pro can also record in 1080p HDR video, along with color night vision. Ring also improved the microphones and a speaker, giving you better two-way audio.
The Ring Floodlight Cam Wired Pro is available for pre-order starting today in either black or white for $249.99. And it will be available starting on May 6.
As mentioned, the Ring Video Doorbell 4 was also announced today, and it is available for pre-order today for $199. And it ships on April 28.
This is the latest in Ring’s lineup of video doorbells and like its predecessors, it can run off of a wired installation, or from a battery. It can still show you footage from four seconds of motion before the doorbell is pressed, but new this time around is that it’s in color. This feature debuted on the Ring Video Doorbell 3 which was black and white only.
The Ring Video Doorbell 4 will record up to 1080p video, but it does lack the square aspect ratio that we’ve seen on other doorbells from Ring. Namely the Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2. Instead, it still has the 16:9 aspect ratio.
