Two more Samsung smartphones are now receiving the Android 11-based One UI 3.1 update – the Galaxy S10 Lite and the Galaxy M51. The former is picking up the new update in Spain with firmware version G770FXXU4EUBA. The update also bundles the March 2021 Android security patch.

The Galaxy M51, meanwhile, is currently receiving the One UI 3.1 update in Russia. It carries the firmware version M515FXXU2CUB7 and also includes the latest monthly Android security maintenance release.

This is the first major Android OS update for the Galaxy M51. Launched in September last year, the device came running Android 10 with One UI 2.1 out of the box. It is now making the big jump to the Android 11-based One UI 3.1. So this update will bring a wholesale amount of changes to the Samsung mid-ranger. Along with plenty of new features, you'll also see some notable changes in the user interface, including new animations.

The Galaxy S10 Lite, on the other hand, has already received its first major Android OS update to Android 11. It came with One UI 3.0 back in December 2020. So it's a relatively smaller update to One UI 3.1 this time around. There's still a lot to look forward to though.

One UI 3.1 brings, among other things, automatic switching of Galaxy Buds between compatible Galaxy smartphones and tablets. The new software also adds the ability to remove GPS location data from photos. There are some new camera features as well, including Object Eraser which, as you'd expect, allows you to erase an object from a photo.

Galaxy S10 Lite and Galaxy M51 get One UI 3.1

Samsung debuted One UI 3.1 with the Galaxy S21 series earlier this year. Soon after, the company announced that the latest iteration of its Android 11-based custom software will also be available to older devices. Within weeks of that announcement, it has already pushed One UI 3.1 to the Galaxy Fold, Galaxy Z Fold 2, Galaxy S20, Galaxy Note 20, Galaxy S10, Galaxy Note 10, Galaxy Note 10 Lite, Galaxy Tab S7, Galaxy Tab S6, and the Galaxy A71 (4G). Now a couple more Galaxy devices are joining the bandwagon.

If you own either of the Galaxy S10 Lite and the Galaxy M51, be on the lookout for a new update in the coming days and weeks. As always, though, updates are released in batches and may not be available to all eligible units at the same time. You can check if the latest update is available for your phone by going to the Software update section in your phone's Settings app.
