Last week, Samsung started rolling out the March 2021 security update for the entire Galaxy S20 lineup. Now, as per Sammobile, the Galaxy S20 series is bagging yet another update that improves its camera performance.
Firstly, it was the US variants of the Galaxy S20 models, i.e. the Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra that received the March update. Later, it was seeding for the European variants.
Cut to now, a huge new update is live for the last-year flagship trio that simply aims to improve the camera performance on the phone. Notably, the update is currently live for Galaxy S20 owners in Germany.
But we believe since it is an important update and brings a bunch of camera improvements, it should soon be expanding to more regions in the coming days.
The latest Galaxy S20 camera update arrives with software version G98xxXXU7DUC7. The weight of the update is around 500MB. So, we would recommend users download this update on a stable and fast Wi-Fi connection.
Samsung has mentioned that this latest update for the Galaxy S20 series improves the camera performance. But folks at Sammobile didn't find any new features after installing the update.
Additionally, the update does mention that it includes other bug fixes, device stability, and performance improvements. All in all, we expect it to touch up some issues with the camera performance on the Galaxy S20 series.
Well, that's about it regarding the new update. The Galaxy S20 series has already bagged the Android 11 based One UI 3.1 update, the March 2021 security patch, and now this new camera performance improvement update.
So, it has been a nice few months for the owners of the Galaxy S20 lineup as they are receiving more updates in a matter of few months, than some other brand phones (talking about non-availability of stable Android 11 update on OnePlus 7 Series).
Since the update is live for users in Germany, you need to make sure that you live in the region to receive an update notification.
And as usual, it won't be available straight away for everyone, as the OTA reaches every device gradually. Do note that the Galaxy S20 FE is not receiving this update.
However, you can manually check for the update. For that, head over to "Settings". Then you need to go to "System updates." From there, tap the "Download and install" option. The downloading and installation of the update will begin if a new update is available.
