Sony knows that everyone is getting a little anxious having been stuck at home this past year, so starting this month, it's giving players a bunch more free PlayStation games to help pass the time.
This is not part of the PlayStation Plus free games that subscribers get every single month. This is a different program that Sony came up with called Play At Home. And it's going to set everyone with a PS4 or PS5 up with a collection of titles that will be free to download for a certain period of time.
You'll be able to keep the games forever, and they will be full games. So these aren't just demos that you have access to nor are they full games that you have only for a limited time. To reiterate though, you will only have a limited amount of time to claim them. So be on the lookout.
Sony officially started Play At Home by offering Ratchet & Clank. Which by the way you can still pick up for free if you grab it by March 31.
Beginning on March 25 though, Sony is tossing out its next free titles. This includes Abzu, the first of 10 more games in addition to Ratchet & Clank. Most of the titles are a mix of smaller games and some indies. But there's also one major hit title that you can pick up starting April 19.
That title will be Horizon Zero Dawn. If you've yet to pick up this game, this will be your chance to snag it at no charge. And it'll be a good time to play it with Horizon Forbidden West on the way, since it's planned for a release sometime in 2021.
The only game that isn't dropping until later is Horizon Zero Dawn. So all of the other titles will be dropping on March 25, which is next Thursday.
The PlayStation games you can look forward to playing for free are Abzu, Moss, Thumper, Enter The Gungeon, Rez Infinite, Subnautica, The Witness, Astro Bot Rescue Mission, and Paper Beast.
Alongside the free games, Sony is also adding in an extended trial subscription to Funimation/Wakanim, for all of your anime watching needs. The trial will last for 90 days before you have to pay the monthly fee. This offer also starts on March 25, and can be claimed until April 22. So if you don't want to start the 90 day trial right away, you can wait till the last few days of the offer.
That being said, this is only available for new subscribers, Sony says.
