Sony is planning for an event on April 14 to announce its new Xperia phones. The event will start at 9:30 AM CEST (3:30 AM ET) and goes live on the company's YouTube channel.
The company made an announcement on its Instagram page, and it doesn't reveal anything about phones. However, some sources reported that Sony might launch the Xperia 1 III, Xperia 5 III, and Xperia 10 III at the upcoming event.
Sony has been very conservative about its new Xperia phones. That's why there isn't much information about any of the upcoming devices yet. But it seems no company can completely hide the specs of future products, and some specs of the Xperia 1 III have been leaked.
According to what a leaker shared on Weibo, the Xperia 1 III features a 6.5-inch 4K OLED display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Also, the refresh rate is 120Hz, which makes the phone a good choice for gamers.
Other specifications include a 5,000mAh battery coupled with 65W fast charging, 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, a 64MP wide-angle camera paired with a 12MP ultra-wide-angle sensor, and a Snapdragon 888 SoC. Moreover, the camera on this phone uses a periscope lens.
We have to wait for about two weeks and see what Sony has brought to outperform others. However, these specifications look impressive on paper, and they help Xperia 1 III to stand out.
The Xperia 1 III is Sony's flagship phone, and the two other models will be the chapter variants. We don't have much-confirmed information about Xperia 5 III and Xperia 10 III, and tipsters should help again. The Xperia 5 III will likely have a 6.1-inch FullHD+ HDR OLED display, 8GB RAM, 128GB of storage, a 4000mAh battery, and a Snapdragon 888 processor. It will also support 5G connectivity.
Sony called the last version as a "Masterclass" phone, and we're excited to see how the new version wants to take this Masterclass to a new level.
The other phone in Sony's lineup is Xperia 10 III, which is somehow the cheapest and a mid-range phone. It was in November last year that some possible specifications were leaked. It likely comes with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 690 and 5G support. Moreover, a 6.1 inches display, 6GB RAM, 128GB of storage, and a 4300mAh battery are some expected specifications for Sony Xperia 10 III.
It is worth noting that tipsters leak these likely specifications, and we need to wait until the April 14 event for an official announcement by Sony.
