While many we’re rightfully focused on the launch of the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, those weren’t the only new devices announced yesterday. After months of rumors and leaks, the OnePlus Watch was also shown off, providing a formidable Fitbit and Amafit opponent.
Instead of being powered by Wear OS like many were hoping for, OnePlus took a different approach, opting to make the Watch into a super-charged fitness tracker. You’ll find a big, round, display, along with plenty of health monitoring sensors onboard, while still being able to view and reply to various notifications that arrive on your smartphone.
There were some concerns that you would end up having to “overpay” for the luxury of a OnePlus Watch, but the company surprised many with its price tag of just $159. The only “problem” is that although the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro can be ordered right now, you’ll have to wait until April 14th to place your order for the OnePlus Watch.
But as the company said in its keynote, “good things come to those who wait”. For a limited time, you’ll be able to save $20 on the OnePlus Watch, bringing the price down to just $139 when it hits the virtual store shelves next month.
In order to take advantage of this deal, you’ll need to head over to the OnePlus Day landing page and click the “Claim Now” button on the page. This will save the $20 voucher to your account, which will automatically be applied when you go to checkout with your purchase of the OnePlus Watch on the 14th.
There’s a lot to like about the OnePlus Watch, and we can’t wait to get our hands (and wrists) on this new wearable. And while the $159 price tag may not seem palatable for some, being able to take $20 off of the price should make the Watch more enticing to grab.
Let us know what you think about the OnePlus Watch and if you’ll be picking one of these up for yourself.
