What’s special about the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max?

Xiaomi is out here changing the game with the launch of the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max, even if the phone will only be launching in India. Pro Max sports a gorgeous 6.6-inch OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and touch sampling up to 240Hz. This aims to provide an excellent experience while doing things like playing your favorite games to just navigating the software and scrolling Twitter.

Under the hood, Xiaomi packed the new Snapdragon 732G in both the Note 10 Pro and Pro Max, while offering either 6GB or 8GB of RAM in the Pro, along with just an 8GB option in the Pro Max. Storage shouldn’t be much of a concern with either of these, as you’ll be getting up to 128GB of built-in storage.

In addition to the 120Hz display on a budget phone, the real fun with the Redmi Note 10 Pro Max appears when you start looking at the camera system. Xiaomi packed a 108MP primary camera, which delivers images equivalent to 12MP thanks to the nona-binning. Xiaomi has also included some software features which aim to add more functionality like the new and improved Night Mode 2.0.

But that’s not the only camera sensor on board, as there are a total of four cameras on the rear and an additional 16MP camera on the front for selfies. The other three sensors on the back consist of an 8MP ultrawide sensor, 5MP telephoto lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Moving past the cameras, Xiaomi is also doing everything it can to make sure that any three of these phones will last you all day, no matter what you’re doing. The standard Note 10 features a 5,000mAh cell, while the Pro and Pro Max are equipped with a 5,020mAh battery. But all three phones are capable of taking advantage of the included 33W fast charger, so you can top off and keep going for the rest of the day (and night).

There are just enough differences between the Pro and the Pro Max to warrant the higher price, but the insanity of these devices is that prices start at around $220 for the 6GB/64GB Note 10 Pro. The Note 10 Pro Max offers even more of an incredible value with pricing that starts around a measly $260.

Pricing and availability

Xiaomi confirmed that the Redmi Note 10 will be the first phone available, launching on March 16th. The Note 10 Pro will be coming on March 17th, while the Note 10 Pro Max arrives on March 18th. It’s going to be tough to hold off on grabbing one of the other phones, but it’s clear that the Note 10 Pro Max is the star of the show here.

As we’ve already stated, pricing for the Note 10 begins at ~$165 for the 4GB/64GB model, and goes up to ~$194 for the 6GB/128GB version. The Note 10 Pro comes in at ~$220 for the 6GB/64GB variant, then bumps up to around $235 for the same 6GB of RAM but double the storage coming up to 128GB. If you want the end-all-be-all Note 10 Pro with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, that will set you back around $260.

Coincidentally, the high-end Note 10 Pro is priced the same as the base model Note 10 Pro Max. However, with that $260 for the Pro Max, you’re looking at 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Doubling the storage brings the price of the Pro Max up to ~$275, while going full-out on the Pro Max with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage sets you back a little over $300.

All three of these devices offer an incredible value, and it will be truly interesting to see what responses come from other companies looking to launch budget smartphones in the next few months.
