The OnePlus 9 series launch event is today, and you can watch it live!

The focus of this event is primarily on the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro smartphones. These two handsets will become the company’s new flagships, which come with cameras that have been co-developed with Hasselblad.

In addition to those two devices, OnePlus will also announce the OnePlus Watch. That will become the company’s very first smartwatch. The OnePlus 9R will also become official, though that device will be exclusive to India, so chances are it won’t be mentioned during the global launch event.

OnePlus has been confirming the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro piece-by-piece for a while now. The company showed off the design of both phones, while it also confirmed some camera information, and several other specs.

The OnePlus 9 Pro will be the star of the show

The OnePlus 9 Pro will, of course, be the most prominent device OnePlus will announce. That device will feature a custom new sensor from Sony on the back (IMX789), for its main camera. That will be a 48-megapixel unit.

In addition to that sensor, OnePlus will also utilize a 50-megapixel IMX766 sensor for the phone’s ultra-wide camera. You’ll be able to use that camera for macro photography as well. A monochrome sensor will also be included, along with a telephoto one.

This handset is said to sport a 4,500mAh battery. The OnePlus 9 Pro will support 65W wired charging, and 50W wireless charging, on top of offering reverse wireless charging.

OnePlus 9 Pro will also offer an official IP rating for water and dust resistance. The global model will support two SIM card slots, while the Snapdragon 888 will fuel both the OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro.

The OnePlus 9 will be almost as powerful

The OnePlus 9 will offer inferior specs in comparison to the 9 Pro, but it will be almost as powerful. A flat display will be included on this phone, with a 120Hz refresh rate, though it will be an LTPS one, not an LTPO one as on the ‘Pro’ model.
