Samsung’s DeX feature has been a staple in the company’s brand for a few years now. A set of renders just popped up, pointing to a new device in the DeX family. Renders from WinFuture (via SamMobile) show us a new DeX compatible wireless keyboard that Samsung is developing.

The renders show a pretty slim and compact design

The name of this new keyboard is called the Samsung Keyboard Trio 500. The renders show us the black color variant with orange accents and the white color variant with baby blue accents. The body and the keys have a textured finish, and the power switch is on the left side. It appears like it’d be made of metal, but that’s tough to say at this point.

There are a few keys that stand out. There are three accented keys that are labeled “App 1″, App 2”, and “App 3”.  These could be shortcuts, but it’s uncertain. The F7, F8, and F9 keys have the Bluetooth symbol, which means that this device can connect to up to three devices. The right-most accented key is a dedicated DeX key. It will most likely switch on and off DeX mode.

The device is pretty slim but it has a slight incline to add to ergonomics. It looks like it will be small enough to be tossed inside a travel bag. This will eliminate the issue of having to find a monitor with a  keyboard attached.

The DeX compatible keyboard has a price of only 45 euros

The Keyboard Tio 500 may bear the DeX logo, but it’s not a proprietary piece of hardware. It runs on Bluetooth and it appears that it could also work with Windows and Apple devices. This is good news for those who use other platforms along with DeX and don’t want to shell out for multiple keyboards.

There’s a  USB port, but it doesn’t have a rechargeable battery. The port is to connect it to a device via a wire. Other than that, it can run on AAA batteries when connected by Bluetooth.

One kicker for the Keyboard Trio 500 is the rather small price tag. Samsung sometimes tends to offer a pretty penny for some of its devices, so seeing a price of 44.90 euros is a bit surprising. There’s no telling how much it will cost in the states, but hopefully, it will be near that price. With this price, we don’t expect it to be much more than your typical Bluetooth keyboard with a few tricks up its sleeve.

DeX has developed into a  robust platform, even promoting companies like Motorola to follow in its footsteps. There’s no telling when the Keyboard Trio will launch. There are some third-party retailers that are getting ready to offer it, however. This should hopefully be a sign that it will launch sooner rather than later.
