Amazon Luna Cloud Gaming 1 1

The Amazon Luna cloud gaming service is still in beta and has a fairly limited pool of device support, but this week it has expanded a little by adding support for Samsung's Galaxy S21 series of smartphones.

This includes the Galaxy S21, the Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. So no matter which model you have picked, they can all play games via the cloud if you have access to Amazon Luna.

The only major component here besides device support is access. And that will pose a problem for some who are interested in trying it out. That's because you still need an invite to play games on Amazon Luna. That is, unless you have a few specific device types.

Amazon Luna on the Galaxy S21 will still require an invite to the service

If you have a Galaxy S21, there's only one thing stopping you from playing games through Amazon Luna right now. The invite. If you don't already have one, then you can't play games on the phone.

You can however sign up for an invite and when you get one, you'll be able to sign in through your device and play to your heart's content. Your only option right now if you want to test out the service right away is using Fire TV.

Recently, Amazon announced that most current Fire TV devices, including the Fire TV Cube and select TVs with Fire TV built-in, would support the Luna open beta. Which means no invite required. All other devices though, such as PC, Android, and iOS, you need the invite to play. For now.

You still have to pay for the subscription

If you've signed up for an invite or if you already have access, then you're already aware of the cost. If not, then you need to know that you will still need to pay for the subscription fee to access Luna from your device. Regardless of whether that's a Fire TV, an Android smartphone like the Galaxy S21 Ultra, or your PC browser.

Thankfully the service cost is only $4.99 so you're not looking at an exorbitant amount. Although the cost does increase if you add the Ubisoft+ channel in addition to the Luna channel.
