Samsung‘s upcoming affordable Android tablet, the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, is in the headlines once again. The unannounced device has made multiple appearances in official certification listings and leaks over the past few months. Now, as the tablet moves closer to its launch, it has popped up in yet another certification listing.

Chinese regulatory agency TENAA recently certified the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite with the model number SM-T225C (via). The listing on the official website contains live images of the tablet, revealing its design and a few other key details.

Talking about the design, the live images confirm the design that we’ve seen in multiple leaks in recent weeks. The budget tablet features a single camera unit both on the front as well as on the back. Sadly, the device misses out on an LED flash as well. It has its power button and the volume rockers on the right side while the SIM tray sits on the left.

The device shown in the TENAA listing is black in color. However, there are reports that the upcoming tablet would be also available in blue color. The recent certification in China seemingly confirms that the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite measures 212.5 x 124.7 x 8mm in dimension and weighs 300 grams. It sports an 8.68-inch LCD screen with a resolution of 800 x 1340 pixels.

Under the hood is a chipset operating at a maximum frequency of 2.3GHz. This is said to be MediaTek’s Helio P22T SoC. The processor could be paired with 3GB/4GB of RAM and 32GB/64GB storage options, at least in the Chinese market. Perhaps, since it’s a budget offering, that could be the story elsewhere as well. There will be a microSD card slot for additional storage though, in case 64GB is not enough for you.

Other rumored Galaxy Tab A7 Lite specs include a 5,100mAh battery with 15W fast charging, a USB Type-C port, Android 11-based software, and an 8-megapixel rear camera.

Galaxy Tab A7 Lite inches closer to launch

The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite has been making rounds on the internet at least since January this year when it appeared on the benchmarking platform Geekbench with model number SM-T225. The same model number was certified by the FCC in early March.

It has since appeared in renders several times, suggesting an imminent launch. Now, the TENAA certification in China is another indication that the upcoming Samsung Galaxy tab A7 Lite is closer to its launch. Reports dating back to February suggest the Korean firm may unveil the new budget-friendly device sometime in June this year, i.e. next month. So it’s not a very long wait before things get official now.
