Google Photos has been the go-to photo storage option for many users. The service has just gotten a bit better with its latest update. According to Android Police, you can now organize photos and videos offline.

A new update has popped up that lets you organize your photos and video offline before uploading them to Google Photo’s cloud. You also have the ability to edit existing albums while offline.

You can organize your content and add it to albums while offline and it will all be automatically updated once you’re connected to the internet again. The whole process is seamless and indistinguishable from being online. The update should have already rolled out. If it’s not working for you, check your updates in the Google Play store.

Google Photos has been making some changes lately

Google Photos has been in the news a little bit, lately, for some of the changes to the platform. The service has seen integration from Google Lens. This feature lets you easily copy text from pictures and paste it into documents. This makes the process of transferring text from phone to computer easier.

Also, many folks know the news that unlimited storage will no longer be free. People have enjoyed the peace of mind of just uploading their photos and videos without worrying about limits. Google announced back in November of 2020 that photos and videos uploaded will count toward your 15 GB of free Drive storage.

Those who are worried should know that the changes will come into effect on June 1st, 2021. This gives users a fair amount of time to prepare. If you want to expand your storage to 100 GB, you can pay the $1.99 per month. It’s worth it to mention that the photos and videos that are uploaded before the first of June will NOT be affected.

This also goes for other Google services that use the cloud. Your Google Docs, Sheets, and Slides documents will also be affected. Though documents like those don’t typically take up much space, they can add up if you’re an avid user of those services.

Be sure to update your Google Photos app when you get the chance, especially if staying constantly connected is an issue for you. With Google letting users organize photos and videos offline, you can safely live in the cloud with your feet on the ground.
