This Friday, March 26, Disney+ is getting its first price hike. Bringing the price up to $7.99 per month, or $79.99 per year. That's a $1 per month price hike. And it's one that we all saw coming.
Now, unfortunately, Disney+ is not grandfathering in everyone that joins before Friday, to the cheaper price. But you can delay that price hike, particularly if you get the yearly plan. As you won't see the price hike until your next billing cycle. And now is your last chance to do it. As of midnight on Friday, you will be paying $7.99 per month for Disney+.
When Disney+ launched in 2019, we expected to see a price hike pretty soon for the service. Considering the vast library that Disney+ has, and how much original content it was planning to create. Particularly among the Star Wars and Marvel franchises. And those are not cheap to make. Especially with all of the CGI that is needed.
However, it's still $8 per month. Still less than Netflix, and yeah, Netflix has a lot more content. But it's not all good content that you'd want to watch. So that is worth remembering too. On the other hand, Disney+ has Disney, Pixar, Star Wars, Marvel, and National Geographic under its umbrella. And yeah, some of it's not great content either, but there's something here for everyone. Kids, adults and everyone in between.
Disney+ just wrapped up the first season of WandaVision and just started releasing the first season of The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. So it's really getting started with releasing its original content, after production was shut down due to COVID-19 last year.
You can still sign up for Disney+ by clicking here. Currently, it's $6.99 per month or $69.99 per year (the yearly subscription is the better option, since you're essentially getting two months free).
The Disney+ bundle will also be going up by the same amount, a buck each month.
The Disney+ Bundle with Hulu ad-supported will be $13.99 (up from $12.99) per month. And the Disney+ bundle with Hulu no-ads will be $19.99 (up from $18.99) per month. Still really great deals though, considering separately this would cost you $7.99 for Disney+, $5.99 for ESPN+ and $4.99 for Hulu ad-supported, or $11.99 for Hulu ad-free. That's one heck of a deal.
