A new report by Android Police confirms that with a new update, you can now synchronize the recently launched fitness band from OnePlus, the OnePlus Band with Google Fit.
OnePlus is a brand known for manufacturing high-spec'd phones for a lower price (debatable). Noticed how I stated "high-spec'd" phones and not flagship phones.
Because they are not flagship-level phones. Although OnePlus provides all the high-end specs of a flagship device, its performance is still not up to the flagship mark.
For instance, take the camera performance. OnePlus still has a lot to do in terms of camera performance, not only point-and-shoot but also in the video recording department.
Well, while the company is expected to address those issues with the upcoming OnePlus 9 and 9 Pro, right at the beginning of this year, OnePlus launched its first-ever fitness tracker called OnePlus Band.
It is the devices with which the company entered the growing wearable segment. The OnePlus Band is decent and covers all the basic aspects that one needs to keep in check while training.
However, the companion app was a bit underwhelming, and it lacked multiple features. Syncing data with other third-party apps would have been nice, but it was not an option. Luckily, it seems like OnePlus has heard your feedback.
Because with the latest update to the OnePlus Health app, OnePlus has added a new feature that allows the user to sync their health data with the Google Fit app.
This new OnePlus Band Google Fit sync option is seen on the OnePlus Health app version 1.3.2. This version recently started rolling out via the Google Play Store.
Once you have downloaded or updated the OnePlus Health app, then you will see a card asking you to "Share data with Google Fit" right at the top.
Tapping on Settings will begin the syncing process. Notably, if you have multiple Google accounts, then you would have to specify which account to link.
After the synchronization process is complete, all your OnePlus Band data including step counts, heart rate, and sleep data will be synced with the Google Fit app.
One thing that our friend at Android Police noted is that the sleep data failed to sync and appear on the Google Fit app. Apart from that, all the stats from over a month were synced to Fit.
Most probably that is a bug that needs OnePlus attention at the moment. Google Fit also lacks support for displaying SpO2 data. So, in order to track your blood oxygen measurements, you still need to go back to the OnePlus Health app.
