If you have the money to buy a Porsche here is some news for you. According to Engadget, Porsche will offer Android Auto in new cars beginning in 2022. Normally you would have to modify your expensive sports car by adding Android Auto afterward. Now Porsche will make it easier to use Android Auto.

Porsche is expanding from its Apple-focused smartphone integration to show Android users some love. In 2022 Porsche 911 lovers will be able to connect their Android phones and get Google Maps directions. When you have that much power under the hood you need great directions to get where you are going fast.

Overall the new move is a tech upgrade to bring a new Porsche Communication Management (PCM) infotainment-based system. This is similar to what you can find in the Porsche Taycan. This system includes both wired and wireless Apple Car Play, Apple Music, Apple Podcasts, and more.

Users will have features like “hey, Porsche” voice control and Navigation Plus will be will require a subscription. Because of course, it is. Thankfully, Porsche will offer a three-year trial period which also includes three months of Sirius XM with 360L so you can rock out while speeding down the highway.

Other upgrades include a Tesla-style feature making it easier to pull out of a tight parking spot. The new Porsche 911 with a PDK aka dual-clutch automatic can be summoned via optional Remote ParkAssist. By using your smartphone you can have your car pull out of the parking spot all on its own. The 911 is growing up.

Remote ParkAssist also gives prospective buyers Active Parking Support. This is a 3D view to help with more professional parking jobs. Also, buyers will get rear cross-traffic warnings and lane change assistance.

Of course, this being a Porsche you will have to pony up a hefty sum of money. The 2022 Porsche lineup starts at $101,200 for the base Carrera. If that is a paltry sum to your pockets just know it can raise from there all the way to $219,800 for the Turbo S Cabriolet.

There will also be a bit of patience needed for anyone whose money is burning a hole in their pockets. If you want a GT3 which is $161,100 you will have to wait until the fall before dealers get it. Of course, if you are more frugal then you can just buy a 2021 model and use Porsche’s pre-existing in-house features. Now, seems like a good time to start saving up.
