Twitter may soon allow us to unsend tweets, if a new leak is to be believed. Considering the source, it probably is. This information comes from Jane Manchun Wong, a well-known reverse engineer.

Twitter seems to be readying the unsend tweets feature

She managed to discover a feature called ‘Undo Send’, which will essentially allow you to unsend a tweet for a few seconds after you post it. This feature has been implemented in a number of SMS apps, email apps, and so on.

As you can see in the provided tweet below, the timer is presented in the button itself. When the timer runs out, you won’t be able to unsend the tweet anymore. You will still be able to manually delete it after it’s posted, though, of course.
